Northern Kentucky woman arrested after dismembered body, believed to be her mother, found in backyard
Torilena May Fields, 32, claimed she was “casting spells” when a dismembered body, believed to be her mother, Trudy Fields, was discovered outside her home. The discovery was made by a contractor who became concerned when Trudy Fields didn’t answer the door. He followed drag marks in the grass, leading him to multiple blood-stained items and the remains of a dismembered body. He also noticed a pile of hair that he believed belonged to the homeowner.
When state troopers arrived at the Brierly Ridge Road residence in Mount Olivet, they found human body parts inside a pot in the oven.
The contractor told police he had seen Trudy Fields and her daughter, Torilena, the day before. He described Torilena as “confrontational” and noted they were the only ones at the house at that time.
The Fields’ home is located at the end of a long, private driveway in a remote area with only one nearby residence. Kentucky State Police and family members were at the scene on Thursday evening.
Troopers said Torilena was the only person present when they arrived. After she refused to leave the house, they used tear gas to apprehend her. She reportedly had blood on her face, hands, and clothing.
Torilena Fields has been charged with obstructing governmental operations, tampering with physical evidence, and abuse of a corpse. She is currently being held at the Bourbon County Regional Jail and is expected to make her first court appearance soon.
