Drone From Russia Suspected of Crashing Near Oil Facility in Latvia

Latvian officials say a drone that entered the country’s airspace from Russia may have crashed near an oil storage facility in the eastern region of Rēzekne. Authorities reported no injuries, while emergency crews secured the area and cooled one of the fuel tanks as a precaution.
Latvia’s armed forces confirmed that multiple drones crossed into Latvian airspace overnight, prompting the activation of air defense units and Baltic air policing operations. Residents in nearby municipalities were warned to stay indoors and avoid suspicious low-flying objects as investigations continue.
