London, UK: Metropolitan Police Launches New Unit to Protect Jewish Community After Recent Attacks

The Metropolitan Police has announced the creation of a dedicated Community Protection Team, deploying an initial 100 additional officers to safeguard the Jewish community across London.
The move comes in response to a series of incidents over the past weekend. On Friday, May 1, a 57-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing fear or provoking violence after allegedly threatening a Jewish man while using racially offensive language.
On Saturday, May 2, a 35-year-old man was arrested for aggravated criminal damage after rocks were reportedly thrown at an ambulance serving the Jewish community in Edgware while it was transporting a patient.
Police also revealed that around 50 individuals have been arrested for antisemitic hate crimes in the past four weeks alone, underscoring growing concerns over community safety.
